Water and Whisky Weekend - Easter Weekend 2010 - just £80!
RUN IN CONJUNCTION WITH
Some say the only thing you should mix with a whisky is another whisky… but we think on this occasion, water’s a great mixer!
MacBackpackers have teamed up with Nae Limits this Easter to create this unique and exciting, adrenalin pumping tour!
Book NowDay 1 – Saturday 3rd April:
Departing Edinburgh on the Saturday your guide will take you north towards Pitlochry.
Arriving at Nae Limits head quarters we’ll grab a bite to eat then its time to get ready for our adrenalin pumping challenge. We will raft down the River Tay, taking on its spinning rapids, and literally soaking up some of Perthshire’s most beautiful scenery. This activity is safe and fun for everyone looking for a splash and a play on the river!
You are sure to leave the river rushing!
Once we’re all dried off its on to Pitlochry, to our cosy Hostel, your home for the night. The evening is yours to eat, drink and be merry!
Day 2 – Sunday 4th April:
Day two begins after breakfast as we head for the hills for some egg rolling action, an Easter tradition! We then slowly make our way back to the Capital exploring some of Scotland’s finest scenery on the way. We’ll go cross country going for a wee wander in the Birks O’ Aberfeldy, a popular circular walk through wonderful mixed woodland on the outskirts of Aberfeldy. The Falls of Moness tumble through the gorge and provide a dramatic centrepiece. Robert Burns visited in 1787 and was so inspired that he wrote the poem `The Birks of Aberfeldie`.
Leaving Aberfeldy Behind, our next stop is at the Glenturret Distillery, the home of the Famous Grouse Whisky. You’ll receive a tour of the distillery and also 5 whisky tastings to tantalise your taste buds! Once you’re full of Scottish spirit, it’s time to head off to Stirling, where you’ll have a view of the Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle and Bannockburn. This is the land of legends such as William Wallace, Andrew Moray and Robert the Bruce, King of Scots.
Book NowAfter a weekend of water, whisky, laughter and legends it’s time to head on back to Edinburgh, where you might want to continue the laughter and whisky with your new found friends in one of the local bars!
